The VWR® ATP Hygiene Monitoring System provides rapid, quantitative verification of surface and liquid cleanliness by measuring adenosine triphosphate (ATP) — the universal energy molecule present in all living organisms and organic residues. Using bioluminescence technology, ATP on a surface reacts with the luciferase/luciferin reagent in a swab device to produce light, measured in Relative Light Units (RLU) in seconds. Higher RLU readings indicate greater contamination. The system is designed for integration with Hygiena’s UltraSnap® surface swab, AquaSnap® water test, and MicroSnap® rapid microbial enumeration devices.
