VWR® Automated Cell Counters, including the Cellometer® and TC20 platforms, provide fast, objective, and reproducible cell counting and viability analysis, eliminating the subjectivity and time associated with manual haemocytometer counting. Using brightfield imaging and sophisticated auto-focus algorithms, the instrument analyses multiple focal planes to accurately identify and count cells in suspension. Compatible with a broad range of cell types and sizes (6–80 µm diameter) including mammalian cell lines, primary cells, stem cells, and blood-derived cells. Trypan blue exclusion viability analysis is performed simultaneously with cell counting in a single step, providing live cell count, dead cell count, total cell count, viability percentage, and mean cell diameter in under 30 seconds. No dilution is required across the broad concentration range of 5 × 10⁴ to 1 × 10⁷ cells/mL. Disposable dual-chamber counting slides ensure accurate, consistent cell distribution regardless of pipetting style and eliminate the need for cleaning. Up to 100 counts can be stored on-board for export via USB. The Cellometer® Auto 2000 variant adds two fluorescence channels for labelled cell counting and fluorescence-based viability assays in under 60 seconds.
