The VWR® Nano Spectrophotometer for Biology (NanoVue™ Plus / compatible with NanoDrop® technology) is a compact, microvolume UV-Vis spectrophotometer designed specifically for life science applications requiring accurate nucleic acid and protein quantification from very small sample volumes (0.5–2 µL). A hydrophobic sample plate or patented sample retention pedestal holds the liquid sample by surface tension, eliminating the need for cuvettes, capillaries, or dilutions. Measurements are performed across the full UV-Vis spectrum (190–1100 nm) in under 5 seconds. Key features include: pre-defined methods for DNA (dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA, oligos), protein (direct UV A280, Bradford, BCA, Biuret, Lowry), microarray CyDye™ incorporation, and bacterial cell density (OD 600); automatic calculation of nucleic acid purity ratios (260/280 nm and 260/230 nm); self-calibration on startup; sample recovery capability; and PC software for data management, reporting, and GLP compliance. Ideal for routine quantification of PCR products, plasmid DNA, total RNA, and purified proteins in molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, and clinical research laboratories.
